How to Add Dimension to your Decor

Styling even the smallest place in your home can make a huge difference. The corner of the kitchen counters, the entryway console table, or your bathroom countertop, are all small areas where you could add dimension to your decor! Personally, I love using trays and floral elements when styling spaces! They provide an appealing depth as well as pops of color! Decorative books are also a must! It’s the easiest way to elevate smaller pieces.

Tips for Adding Dimension:

  1. Use different sized objects.
    • A tall table lamp and a smaller vase. Decorative books of different widths!
  2. Use both vertical and horizontal elements.
    • Combine decorative boxes and books to elevate small objects. You can also combine a square framed canvas with rectangular prints.
  3. Add trays and florals whenever you can.
    • Add stems and florals into your vases. When styling a coffee table, add a large tray first, then style on top of it.
  4. Place smaller objects in front of larger ones
    • This provides the most dimension while allowing both items to be on display.
  5. Elevate the smaller objects on your horizontal element!
    • If the object you want to style is the smallest of the bunch, elevate that one on your decorative box or book.
